Replacement of a Stolen, Damaged/Lost Emirates ID (For UAE residents)

For UAE residents Emirates ID is the most important document in the Country. To process all kind of documents, it is necessary to provide Emirates ID. It is a kind proof which confirms the identity of an individual. The card is issued by Emirates Identification Authority which contains the personal information of an individual. This data can be accessed by using the PIN mentioned in the card. Since it contains the personal data of an individual, it is his/her duty to keep the card secured all the times.

What are the procedures to obtain a new ID card if it is stolen or lost?

If anyone who stolen, damaged or lost their National ID card, they must follow the below steps to get a new card:

    1. Immediately report the issue to the Police Station of his/her jurisdiction with the acknowledgement of the same by paying AED 70.
    2. Filing a Replacement for damaged or lost card form at any authorized typing center or from the ID Authority website. Filing of form is done in any of the authorized typing centers.
    3. Submitting of necessary documents as listed below
      1. a) Residents above 15 years old:
        • Original valid passport
        • Residency or Visa
        • Copy of the lost Emirates ID
      2. b) Residents below 15 years:
        • Original Passport
        • Original Birth Certificate Or Sponsors passport Or Emirates ID

By providing the required documents and paying a registration fee, the application will be submitted online through the authority website. Also the same can be done through approved typing center by paying a registration fee, printing and the receipt of the registration request form.

Fee payable to obtain new Emirates ID will be AED 300 for all residents of UAE. An express service is also available where a person can obtain Emirates ID within 24 hours, by paying an additional fee of AED 150. Additional fee of AED 70 will be collected in case of submitting the form online and printing or AED 40 if the application is submitted online via the website.

After the submission of the application within seven (7) working days new Emirates ID will be received from the Emirates Identity Authority.
